Hey, I’m Andrew, founder and lead developer at Code Crafted Digital.
My journey started back in the MySpace era, hand-coding HTML and CSS just to customize my profile. This was before Flexbox and Grid — when layouts were built with tables and everything had to be positioned by hand. That old-school foundation taught me precision, patience, and how to write clean, resilient code long before development frameworks existed.
From Construction to Code
Before launching Code Crafted Digital, I worked for my family’s construction company. When we needed a website, I hired someone to build it — and that’s when I discovered WordPress. What began as a necessity quickly became a passion. I dove in, learned everything I could about WordPress and PHP, and became a full-stack developer capable of managing both front-end and back-end architecture.
Today, I’m the CEO of that same family business, overseeing operations and growth. Running a company taught me a crucial lesson — technology only matters when it drives real business results. That mindset guides every project I take on.
The Early Spark: Python & Automation
My first experience with code actually came through Python, which I used to automate repetitive tasks for myself. That early exposure shaped how I approach problem-solving — using technology to eliminate friction and make systems run smarter.
Automation remains at the heart of my work. I specialize in streamlining business operations from A–Z, connecting tools, and designing solutions that help companies scale efficiently.
JavaScript, Before It Was Cool (and After)
When I wanted more interactivity on my early websites, I turned to JavaScript — back before ES6 even existed. Over the years, I evolved with the ecosystem, embracing:
- React for component-based interfaces and dynamic user experiences
- Next.js for SEO-friendly, production-ready web applications
- React Native for cross-platform mobile apps built with the same modern patterns
- Node.js for fast, scalable, real-time back-end systems
This combination lets me build cohesive, high-performance ecosystems that unify web, mobile, and API layers into one seamless experience.
When Bad Agencies Lit a Fire
During my time running the family business, we hired multiple “digital marketing” and “SEO” companies — and nearly every one of them disappointed. They overpromised, underdelivered, and left us confused about what we were even paying for.
That experience changed everything. I made it my mission to master SEO myself — not just to protect our company, but to finally understand what really drives online visibility and growth. What started as frustration evolved into a passion for helping other small businesses succeed the right way: with transparency, strategy, and measurable results.
The Laravel Era
As my development skills grew, I wanted more structure and power than WordPress alone could offer. That led me to Laravel, where I spent six years building custom PHP applications and enterprise-level backends focused on scalability, automation, and maintainability.
Laravel became my playground for serious development — powering everything from vendor integrations to advanced automation systems that keep businesses running efficiently behind the scenes.
Evolving to the Enterprise Stack
While Laravel remains a key part of my toolkit, I’ve since expanded into C# and ASP.NET Core, bringing enterprise-grade software engineering to small and mid-sized businesses. My goal is simple: to give growing companies the same robust, high-performance tech stack used by Fortune 500s — without the enterprise price tag.
Business Automation & Zoho Expertise
While leading operations at the family company, I implemented Zoho CRM to streamline sales and service workflows. That opened the door to Deluge scripting and deep process automation — connecting data, cutting out repetitive tasks, and freeing up team capacity.
Today, I use that same expertise to help other organizations integrate automation across their business — turning disconnected processes into seamless systems.
